Siaya Senator James Orengo is obviously headed towards the Luo Nyanza political kingpinship, thanks to his latest political moves.
The latter has been pushing for opposition leader Raila Odinga's presidency lately, a move that will be good as he seeks to succeed the aging African Union Infrastructure Development head.
For instance, he was very vocal about President Uhuru Kenyatta's concluded tour of Nyanza, and even repeatedly claimed that the latter would endorse Raila as his successor.
Orengo alias Ajimmy is well aware that the way to Luos' hearts is through Raila, and is maximizing on his presence near the media to praise the former Premier with the intent of achieving a passage.
He has also mastered the art of appeasing Raila, being aware that the Orange party leader's main goal currently is the presidency, and is therefore trying to help him achieve it.
The latter reportedly publicly demanded Uhuru to endorse Raila during a closed door meeting at the Kisumu State Lodge on Thursday, in the spirit of their (Raila, Uhuru) truce.
"We would be happy if your excellency considers offering your support for Mr Odinga to continue with your March 9 peace deal of uniting the country and enhancing good governance," he was quoted by the Nation.
And with the support of both Raila and his supporters, there will be nothing to stop him to ascending to the influential slot.
A post that could as well see him become President in the coming days if he plays his cards well.
