Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has defended Suna East MP Junet Mohammed following online criticism over 'little contribution' to Senator Ben Okello's burial.
On Migori Republican Council Facebook group, Mohammed was attacked by several users who accused him of being 'mean' towards issues that matter.
"If it was Raila attending a function, Junet would be been among those running up and down but when it matters, he just sends us only Sh20,000," said Maureen Anyango.
Another user Martin Owino added: "Junet is a test tube politician. He can't do anything minus Raila. He usually hides in ODM yet he doesn't help the society."
But Bosire, a close associate of Mohammed, said it was wrong to vilify politicians who contributes to social events.
According to him, such functions are optional and leaders should be allowed to contribute based on their ability.
"There is nothing wrong with him giving Sh20,000. What I know is that he may have even contributed some other money in parliament.
"Yet again, he has so many people he serves and it is therefore unfair to drag whatever he gave out from the bottom of his heart," he added.
Okello, a former journalist cum politician succumbed to throat cancer last month after battling for months.
