Suba North lawmaker Millie Odhiambo has been the latest opposition politicians to rubbish claims that the Orange Democratic Movement has merged with Jubilee Party.
The party has been working very closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta following its leader Raila Odinga's truce with the Head of State on March 2018.
But speaking on Radio Jambo during the Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night, the MP said that the existing bond between the two political formations is a good collaboration and not any form of alliance.
"Sisi kama ODM hatuko ndani ya serikali, sisi bado tuko upinzani (we are still in the opposition). We are just collaborating, for the good of the country," she pointed out.
She hailed the two leaders for putting aside their egos and joining hands, observing that the union has calmed political temperatures in the nation and unified initially divided citizens.
Odhiambo noted that Kenyans can once again work together regardless of their political allegiances, thanks to the March 9, 2018, turn of events.
However, she said that the opposition will readily oppose the government in case it takes the wrong direction and it is ready to reverting to demonstrations if need be.
"Hata hivyo kazi isipofanyika tutarudi katika maandamano maana bado tuko upinzani (we are ready to go back to our old ways if the government sleeps on the job)," added the MP.
The working union of Uhuru and Raila has been welcomed and rejected in equal measure, with DP William Ruto leading the way in questioning it.
