Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa is the greatest loser if Orange Democratic (ODM) party succeeds in expelling her from the party.
A final ratification by the National Governing Council is her only hope after ODM’s NEC adopted the recommendations of the disciplinary committee.
The greatest setback that Jumwa is likely to face is losing her parliamentary seat. This looming danger has made the outspoken Jumwa to request her party to embrace the spirit of handshake and forgive her.
Another thing she is likely to lose is her membership to the powerful Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC). If this happens, Jumwa will part ways with allowances, extra staff and an official vehicle.
“That the two be de-whipped from all parliamentary committees they serve in the National Assembly with immediate effect, and that the minority whip (Junet Mohammed) should move with speed to make the communication to the leadership of the House,” ODM NEC directed.
Addressing journalists after the grilling, Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori said that they are still ODM members and will serve their term to completion in 2022.
He is also likely to go back to the ballot before 2022.
