Kiambu residents have taken Governor Ferdinand Waititu 'challenge' to the next level.
This time around, they are 'moving' a stream, as proposed by their county boss on Sunday.
Earlier this week, Waititu urged the government to stop the ongoing demolition of buildings on riparian land in Nairobi.
Instead, he argued, agencies involved should investigate the matter, and if any house is found built on riparian land, the owner of the building should cater for the costs of re-routing the course-way of the river.
"What am seeing...if there are people supporting the ongoing demolition of buildings, I personally don't support it. Let them investigate and find out if your house is close to the river, then you should be told it is your responsibility (house owner) to make sure that the river is moved a bit. Otherwise, demolishing houses is not a solution, honestly speaking, it is such a big loss," said Waititu.
This happened after Southend Mall on Lang'ata road and Ukay Mall in Westlands were demolished on grounds that they were constructed on the riparian land.
Inspired by Waititu's logic, two men shot a video trying to put into action what the Kiambu Governor's line of thought is like.
Here is the video making rounds on social media.
