Kingi, whose father Benjamin Kingi was being buried, is seen standing by the podium as resilient Sifuna addresses a gathering. The photos of Sifuna addressing the crowd were released by a team linked to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

"To set the record straight, our Deputy Governor Dr @Kingi_William albeit in sombre mood, later invited SG @edwinsifuna to finish his speech and say a word of condolence to the bereaved family. He also delivered Rt Hon Raila Odinga's message who couldn't make to come personally," read a tweet by Team Joho.

"What you are not told is that later Mombasa Deputy Governor H.E Dr William Kingi invited SG Edwin Sifuna to finish his speech under his watchful eye as Aisha watched in Shame. He said his word of condolence and the Rt Hon Raila's who couldn't make it to the place personally," added Dancan Kibwage, an official in the county government of Mombasa.

Mrs Jumwa grabbed a microphone from Sifuna, forcing the youthful politician to resume his seat. At that time, he's heard explaining the procedures of removal of a person from ODM party due to misconduct.

“Mr SG, kindly refrain from politics out of respect for the dead. We are not here for ODM politics but to condole with the bereaved.”

“We shall not allow this; respect the Mijikenda. Find another platform and speak about issues relating to ODM. We are here to mourn the dead and not politics,” she said as the crowd shouted, some voicing support and others jeering her.

The ODM party expelled Jumwa from the party over her links to DP William Ruto last month. The move could see her losing various parliamentary committees privileges with Parliamentary Service Commission being the most noticeable casualty.
