1. The Menengai crater
The Menengai Crator is one of the largest volcanic craters in the world. It offers a breathtaking view of Lakes Nakuru and Bogoria.
Major activities at the crater include hiking, trekking, biking, camping and picnicking at strategic campsites, and also photography.
2. Hyrax hill prehistoric site
The Hyrax hill is a rocky hill situated just a few kilometres from Nakuru CBD. It offers a great experience being that it contains within it a museum with artifacts dating back to approximately 3000 years ago.
Hyrax hill again is a great place for activities such as picnicking and camping. It also has a tortoise pit and offers a great view of Lake Nakuru.
3. Lord Egerton castle
Lord Egerton castle in Nakuru was built from 1938 to 1954 by Lord Egerton for his bride-to-be. She however, later rejected his wedding proposal stating that the house he lived in then was as small as a chicken house(it was a six-bedroom house).
The castle was built by Indians using mostly imported materials. It was decorated by marbles and tiles imported from Italy. It is the enough to make your day amazing. It is now belongs to Egerton University and is open to tourists.
