Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has said he is ready to defend his gubernatorial seat should Wiper kick him out of the party and deem it fit to push for a gubernatorial by-election.
Kibwana said he had discussed with Makueni electorate his problems in Wiper party.
"I have a lot of issues with the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. The people have, however, said it's not mandatory for me to hold a position in Wiper in order to serve them," Kibwana said.
He spoke during an interview on local radio on Monday.
Kibwana had earlier hinted on ditching Wiper stating that his ideologies differ with Kalonzo's.
A section of Wiper leaders including more than 30 MCAs from Machakos County has dared him to leave Wiper if he's man enough to vie for any political seat without the party's ticket.
They have threatened to kick the governor out of the party claiming that he joined Wiper when he realized he couldn't win the Makueni gubernatorial seat on his Muungano party ticket.
"I have heard some of the Wiper leaders saying I should be kicked out for fresh elections to be conducted. So, let them go ahead. We will contest not even in court," Kibwana said.
