Moi University has been asked to offer a permanent job to its slain guard Jonathan Katam's wife.
Kenyan Ambassador to Pakistan Julius Kibet Bitok said the deceased's wife should be rewarded with a permanent job at the institution as a sign of appreciation to commendable work her late husband did at the university.
Bitok said this will enable the widow to educate and take good care of her children.
"It's my hope that the management of Moi University will award the wife of the deceased a permanent job as a sign of appreciation to commendable work her late husband was doing to the institution so that she can be able to educate and take care of the rest of the family," Bitok said
He spoke during the deceased's burial at his home in Kibabet village, Megun location, within Kapseret Sub-county on Friday.
Bitok called on relevant authorities to speed up investigations into the murder.
Katam was killed in cold blood while on duty on December 25, 2018.
The ambassador said police must ensure that the killers are speedily brought to book.
He said locals should respect their leaders.
"I urge Uasin Gishu County residents to respect all elected leaders to enable them to deliver their mandates as required," he said.
Bitok has declared his interest for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in 2022 polls.
