Matiang'i has been under pressure to leave office after his name was dragged into the Sh400 million fake gold saga, a push Malala has joined, stressing on the need for the CS to give room for investigations.

He backed this up with Matiang'i's implication in the fraudulent acquisition of the Ruaraka Primary School land saga last year, saying that the fact that he controls the investigative bodies gives him an opportunity to interfere.

"Lazima tuangalie kashfa zake. Alitajwa katika masuala ya Ruaraka lakini ni yeye anayeinvestigate. Sasa ametajwa katika gold, ni vyema astep aside (We need to take a look I to the scandals he has been implicated in, he was named in the Ruaraka scandal yet he is the one investigating the same. He has now been named in the gold saga, he needs to step aside)," said Malala.

The vocal parliamentarian was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha Show on Wednesday morning.

This comes only shortly after the Senator threatened to sue Matiang'i and the Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai following his Friday arrest in Kisumu, over alleged involvement in the Matungu killings.

He proposed that if found with a case to answer, Matiang'i should be held at the very same cell he was detained in from Friday to Sunday.

"Akipatikana na makosa afungwe na ikiwezekana apelekwe pale Kisumu penye nilikuwa (if found guilty he should be jailed. Actually, he should be taken to where I was in Kisumu)," he added.

Matiang'i has remained silent on his implication in the gold saga where President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga have also been named.
