This has become a source of their frequent supremacy battles in Garissa County.

On a number of occasions, Duale has opposed plans by Korane especially on matters county development, sparking speculation as to whether he is eyeing Korane's seat come 2022.

On Sunday, their rivalry reached its peak when Duale toured Oharey market where he called on traders to resist the governor's plan to relocate them to the newly proposed market place.

Duale vowed to oppose all plans to move the traders, clearly stating that he would not allow the governor to proceed with the move.

Barely two months ago, Duale again faulted the county boss over alleged graft within the executive, even calling on Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) to launch investigations into the matter.

In a bid to neutralize Duale's threats, Korane reportedly rallied several elected leaders including legislators and Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to denounce him for meddling into county affairs.

Amid the differences, what is even raising more concern is the fact that Duale had fronted Korane in the 2017 elections that that sent the former governor Nathif Jama into packing.
