Dr Ruto, a lead candidate for 2022 elections, has toured the region five times this year as the hunt for 1 million votes takes a new shape. The region has traditionally voted for Raila Odinga.

Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose said Ruto shall first tour Kakamega in the morning before coming to Kisii Town when he will be received by local leaders.

"He will first fly to Lurambi where he will launch a dairy milk plant. He will be hosted by Majority Whip Benjamin Washiali according to his itinerary.

"At around 12pm, we are going to usher him in at Kisii. We shall take him around Nyanchwa South Nyanza Conference offices where he will inspect the building that is currently under construction. Thereafter, we shall be at Gusii stadium," he said.

Besides Mr Mose, MPs Ezekiel Machogu, Sylvanus Osoro, Richard Onyonka and a host of local leaders are expected to be at the Gusii stadium to usher him in.

A source close to the DP who spoke in confidence, said he might briefly attend the burial of Samuel Ragira, a politician who was shot dead in Nairobi, few miles from Kisii Town.

"He is likely to attend the funeral. By around noon we shall get clear information. But for now, the burial is also at his itinerary. The guy was a top Jubilee campaigner."
