The Embrace group is a union of women leaders who have come out to push for national healing, after the March 2018 ceasefire between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition boss Raila Odinga.

Under the leadership of Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, a group of over 20 women leaders on Sunday toured Baringo county.

The Woman Rep said she was unable to attend the function after being held up in other engagements, adding that she will ensure she is part of the next edition.

"Haha missing Embrace means I had other prior engagements but am sure I will rep Busia in the next one. Pamoja," she tweeted on Monday, while responding to a concerned Kenyan.

The women leaders on Sunday used the Embrace platform to call for gender tolerance, calling for a halt of the increasing murder cases against women, especially in romantic relationships.

The women leaders preached the handshake message to Baringo residents, and urged them to embrace peace and brotherhood.

The Embrace team comprises of women leaders from across the political divide.
