This is after pupils of Mangororo Primary School in Ganze constituency, Kilifi County, were on Thursday seen sitting, and standing on stones in flooded classrooms.

The photos depicted a sorry state of affairs as pupils are forced to sit on stones, as the only way to escape water in their classrooms.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s News Gang program on Thursday night, Gachuri said that the images of pupils sitting on stones in flooded classrooms should haunt among others, the Head of State and his deputy.

“The heart breaking Mangororo primary school images should haunt the President, his deputy, the education Cabinet Secretary and his team at Jogoo House, as well as the Ganze Member of Parliament Teddy Mwambire and all those concerned,” said Gachuri.

The journalist said that it is unexplainable how the President, his deputy, Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries can be riding in fuel guzzlers while thousands of pupils struggle to quench their thirst for education in such a poor learning environment.

He challenged the Ministry of Education, Members of Parliament, Members of County Assemblies, and governors to work towards improving infrastructure in public Schools.
