Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja has said that Governor Mike Sonko’s decision to shortlist lawyer Miguna Miguna for the Deputy Governor Position was a big joke.
Sakaja speaking on Monday morning during a radio interview at Radio Citizen said Miguna could not fit for the position.
“I was not happy with Governor Mike Sonko’s decision to shortlist Miguna Miguna since the duo could not work for long. Sonko was joking with Nairobians,” he said.
The vocal senator stated that Sonko need a Deputy who will help him transform the lives of Nairobians.
Sakaja supported Sonko’s list of women to fill the Deputy Governor position.
“Sonko will work better with a woman as his Deputy than working with a man. It is time MCAs should consider one of the women Sonko shortlisted to fill the position for Nairobians to continue getting quality services,” he noted.
He called on elected leaders in Nairobi County to work around the clock to deliver to the electorates for the sake of boosting livelihoods.
The senator urged MCAs not to allow Sonko misuse public funds.
“MCAs should oversight well and ensure public funds sent to City Hall are used appropriately. I am not going to sleep also in my oversight role,” he stated.
