Speaking at the Safari Park Hotel during the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, the DP joked that they will forward Raila's CV for consideration for the vacant British Prime Ministerial slot.

The latest leader to question the joke has been Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo who is now bashing the DP for taking his jokes too far, terming them 'stale and ill-mannered'.

Speaking on Tuesday, he said that such remarks contribute to the reason why the nation needs to relook the matter and decide if it really needs the prayer function going forward.

"To make this a place for ill manned banter and stale jokes is insulting. It necessitates a review of why we need this occasion," said Amollo on NTV's AM Live, Tuesday morning.

However, the remarks were dismissed by Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot who termed Ruto's jab a simple joke that should not be taken as an offence by the ODM block.

He said that he was even surprised to see ODM members hold a press conference to condemn the joke moments after the function that was a president over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"When I head that ODM held a presser to talk about a joke I was shocked. This was supposed to be a light moment," he said.
