A stolen motorbike was found hidden in a banana farm on Monday morning at Nyabera village in South Mugirango, Kisii County.
Locals said the motorbike was stolen on Tuesday last week at the Nyaramba market.
“I went to my farm this morning to cultivate. A few meters away I saw a heap of banana leaves and decided to check I was shocked to find the same motorbike which was stolen by unknown people from Nyaramba market on Tuesday,” said Erick Bichobe.
Bichobe said he immediately called area chief, Patrick Nyang’au and informed him.
“The motorbike was stolen on Tuesday night while the owner was at a local bar drinking beer at Nyaramba market. We have been searching for it,” he said.
Nyang’au said investigations are ongoing to establish who stole the motorbike and hid it in the banana farm.
He called on members of the public to cooperate with security officers to flush out criminals from the area.
