Couples shouldn't just invest in weddings and forget about marriage life.

Here are some of the differences between a marriage and a wedding.

1. A wedding needs planning while marriage requires commitment.

Some couples spend up to two years planning their wedding but after the wedding is done, they are left in a marriage which they didn't take time to invest in. Commitment and dedication are what will make your marriage work as you will be required to spend the rest of your life by your spouse's side.

2. A wedding needs words but marriage requires action.

On your wedding day, there is always that simple declaration that everybody waits to hear from you and that "YES I DO". However, that ends at the wedding because in marriage your words will need to be backed up with actions. Marriage requires you to show your commitment through actions. As the old saying goes, "actions speak louder than words".

3. Weddings need short term investment while marriage needs a long term investment.

We all desire to have a beautiful marriage but we spend time investing in the wedding and not the marriage.

Some spouses are ready to walk with you down the aisle but not willing to walk a thousand miles with you.

It is always important to take keen note of the vows you make to your spouse on the wedding day as you will be required to put them into practice.
