Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has urged Ukambani residents to stand with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and support his 2022 presidential bid.
Muthama said there is no leader who can be compared with Kalonzo in the region.
"I want to tell everyone present that Ukambani does not have any leader who can be compared with Kalonzo," Muthama said.
He addressed mourners during the late Paul Muhoka Mbole's burial ceremony at Kalawa ward in Machakos County on Wednesday.
Muthama asked the Kamba community to participate fully during the anticipated Constitutional amendment and register in their home areas during the 2019 census exercise.
"We should always participate in all matters involving mwananchi. We should be present because this will bring respect to the community," he said.
The event was also attended by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, MPs Charles Kilonzo (Yatta), Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town) and former MP Katatha Maweu (Kangundo) and ex-Machakos Woman Representative Susan Musyoka, among others.
Mutua said the deceased was one of his loyal supporters.
"I am saddened to lose such an important man in my life, he has always supported my political career. He was like a father to me," Mutua said.
