On Wednesday, Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi failed to make a ruling on the accused person’s application for bail and bond.

Andayi said that the court is yet to study the pre-bail report and cannot make a ruling for bond or bail.

The magistrate pushed the bond ruling to next month, October.

“The ruling for bond or bail will be made on October 1 when the court will have had a chance to study the pre-bail report,” Andayi ruled on Wednesday.

The court ordered for the accused persons to be detained at the Gigiri police station pending bond ruling.

Last week, Juliet Njoki an accused person had pleaded for a session with the court in camera.

She had accused the police of allegedly injuring her private genitals during interrogation.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has opposed the release of the accused persons on bond terming them a threat to Mukhtar’s safety.

The DPP also says that the two suspects are likely to interfere with investigations if granted bond or bail.
