Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Nyanza North branch league ended successfully with Suncity Football Club emerging champions after beating Godmesa FC 2-0.
The playoffs staged at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium on Sunday, saw three football clubs come together to contest for the top position.
In the first match, Bandani thrashed Suncity 2-1 before Godmesa edged Bandani 2-1 in the second match.
Suncity won their last match 2-0 topping the table, and therefore emerging winners of the league.
The team's tactician Joshua ‘Ramos’ who could not hide his joy, noted that his team was the tournament’s favorite.
“Despite losing 2-1 to Bandani in the first play-off match, we were still the Kisumu county league’s favorite as I knew we would take the trophy at the end of the day,” he said.
A part from winning the trophy and soccer merchandise, Suncity FC have been promoted to Kenya’s Division Two league next season.
