Nerima has called for the revocation of the Youth Global Champion award to the Kenyan Head of State citing Kenyatta's lack of commitment to support the nation's young generation.

In a Tweet on Tuesday morning, evidently unhappy with the president, Nerima said it was time the award was revoked. She said President Kenyatta's actions are not aligned to being the bearer of the 'Youth Global Champion' title.

"When the President received the award for youth global champion, we complained, he appointed a grandfather and called youth corrupt, we complained.

Now he skips the conference in Kisumu where he was to launch the global champion for youth agenda. Revoke that award! Simple," Nerima's tweet read.

Both President Uhuru and the opposition's Raila Odinga skipped the 4th Legislative Summit that kicked off on Monday in Kisumu.

Kenyatta was to award national honours to county assembly speakers and launch the Global Champion for Youth Agenda during the event but failed to turn up under unclear circumstances.

In August 2018, the President was unanimously endorsed as the Global Champion of the Young People’s Agenda.

President Kenyatta, who was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, accepted the position under the invitation of the United Nations.
