The DPP wants the investigation report forwarded to him within seven days for action.

“I have held an urgent meeting with DCI and directed him to immediately start investigations into the discovery of infant bodies at Pumwani,” he said in a statement on Twitter.

Twelve (12) infant bodies were allegedly found stuffed in boxes at Pumwani Maternity Hospital on Monday.

The infants are said to have died after a generator went off on Sunday night causing the incubators to fail.

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko revealed the shocking discovery when he made an impromptu visit at the hospital on Monday.

The governor said that he found 12 bodies of infants stuffed in boxes alleging that the hospital management was trying to conceal the incident.

Governor Sonko has since suspended the hospital's top managers whom he says must be investigated by relevant agencies.

A section of city MPs among them Ken Okoth (Kibera) have called for thorough investigations into the shocking incident.
