Duale alleges that politicians championing for amendment of the 2010 constitution have a hidden agenda.

Speaking at Mogadashe Grounds in Garissa Town on Saturday, Duale maintained that the referendum push is 'sinister'.

"We know what Raila Odinga and his people want and we will not give them space to derail the government development agenda through distractive talk," he said on Saturday.

Duale said that the Jubilee government will not be distracted by the referendum calls.

"The president and his deputy are focused on the development agenda for Kenyans and no amount of distractive talk will make them lose focus," he said.

Duale said that the Big Four agenda is what matters to Kenyans now.

The Garissa Township MP has opposed Raila's push for a referendum, terming it a plot to block DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

On Saturday, Ruto said that he is not opposed to the referendum.

The DP said that he is only opposed on the manner in which the referendum is being proposed and pushed.

Raila has insisted that the country will go to referendum and has since asked Kenyans to get ready.

The former Prime Minister says that the referendum will focus on the structure of the government.
