The Third Medium Term Plan (MTP III) of the Kenya Vision 2030 outlines the main policies, legal and institutional reforms as well as programmes and projects that the Government plans to implement during the period 2018-2022.

Dr. Wangechi notified Kisii Residents that those with structures near riparian areas have been given a grace period of 90 days as from March to clear them.

The CEC sternly said that those who would have not complied with the directive, their structures will be demolished after the grace period.

“We have also abolished planting of eucalyptus trees around wet areas and swamps,” she added.

Eucalyptus is a thirsty plant. It has a high consumption of groundwater that they can dry up water sources.

The CEC also petitioned those discharging effluents to water sources. She called out to everyone to protect water sources.
