On Monday, a host of leaders accompanied opposition leader Raila Odinga's spouse, Dr Ida Odinga, to Magunga in Gwassi, for the launch of the Magunga market sheds.
The project was done under the watch of area Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and launched by Ida.
Wanga noted that the market is set to ease operations for area traders.
Other leaders who attended the function were MPs Mishi Mboko (Likoni), Eve Obara (Kasipul Kabondo), Ruweida Oloo (Lamu), Christine Ombaka and Wajir Woman Rep Fatuma Gedi.
The event took a political turn, with Wanga firing shots at Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa over her attacks on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), daring her to resign from her position and vie afresh is she cannot respect the party.
On her part, Mboko defended ODM leader Raila over claims that he is busy destroying the Jubilee Party.
Raila has been under sharp criticism from a section of Jubilee MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto who have been accusing him of misusing his March 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The vocal MP insisted that the truce was for the benefit of the nation, adding that it was aimed at enhancing unity.
"Some politicians in Jubilee have been accusing Mr Odinga of trying to create instability in their party, he just wanted Kenya to be peaceful,” she said.
Her remarks were echoed by Gedi who said that the nation must rally behind the two for national unity and development.
She asked both leaders to embark on a nationwide tour and address the many problems facing Kenyans.
"Homa Bay County has numerous challenges including poor roads and lack of water. So do other counties. I appeal to the President and ODM leader to tour different counties to understand the challenges they face," said Gedi.
