The driver of Likuyani MP Enock Kibunguchy is dead.

The driver was killed on Sunday night after gun-wielding gang ambushed him outside Highway Motel.

The driver had just started the engine and was waiting for the MP to come from the hotel as they headed home.

Police sources have said preliminary investigations show the MP was the target of the attack.

“Fortunately, the MP was still upstairs when the attack happened. He was not injured but we suspect he was the target of the attack,” said Western Region Deputy police chief Leonard Omolo.

The deceased’s body was taken to Moi Referral Teaching and Hospital mortuary in Eldoret.

Sources close to the MP said it was a narrow escape for the legislator.
