Rarieda MP Atiende Omollo has slammed Nairobi Governor Mike Sonkoover demeaning remarks he made against Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris.
Speaking on Monday at Citizen TV, he opined that all elected leaders, irrespective of their party affiliations, should support each other in serving the electorate.
The first time lawmaker took issue with the language which the governor used against Passaris terming it unfortunate.
"The kind of words Sonko used were quite unfortunate," the MP observed adding that "citizens elect leaders to work for them and work together irrespective of the party."
Amollo said Sonko has developed a bad habit of insulting leaders who do not subscribe to his political ideology adding that his trait of recording calls puts off many people who would want to talk to him.
The lawmaker further said "The Nairobi Governor is getting into a very interesting and unfortunate habit. It is an unfortunate trait when people fear talking to you as a leader because anything they say might be recorded."
During Madaraka Day celebrations in Nairobi, Governor Sonko clashed with Passaris over development issues in the county. What followed was a barrage of words by the governor prompting her to walk out of the fete.
