Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga will be on the ballot in 2022, says the party's chairman John Mbandi.
Speaking at Kanyimach village during the burial of Migori Senator the late Ben Oluoch, the Suba South MP said Raila will surely battle it out with Deputy President William Ruto and other presidential candidates in the next general election.
"Who said Raila is retiring from politics? who said he isn't interested in 2022 presidential elections? Let it be known that he will be on the ballot," Mbandi said.
Mbandi who doubles as the minority leader at the National Assembly said the deputy president shouldn't expect votes from the Mount Kenya region since he doesn't owe them anything.
"Mount Kenya doesn't owe Ruto anything, they made their choice in 2013 and 2017 and Ruto should be satisfied by serving as Vice President twice," Mbandi said.
He told the deputy president to submit himself for a lifestyle audit like other leaders in the fight against corruption.
On various occasions, Ruto has claimed that he's ready for a lifestyle audit and he can account for his wealth.
