Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna now says he may be forced to mobilise thousands of jobless youths for a march to Deputy President William Ruto's office.
Earlier, Ruto had jokingly offered to surrender Raila Odinga's CV to Lord Hastings, the guest speaker at National Prayer Breakfast, for consideration for PM job in Britain.
“We have a retired one in Kenya and since the Constitution has abolished that position in Kenya, and he may not have it anytime soon, we will send you his CV, maybe you can consider him," Ruto had said.
But at a press conference in Nairobi, Sifuna poked holes into Jubilee administration's ability to create jobs, arguing that many young people are languishing in poverty.
He said that the ODM party will soon mobilise hundreds of youths to DP William Ruto's office to ask for jobs. He said Raila is ready to give room for Ruto to give young people jobs.
"It is also not lost on us that Jubilee promised Kenyan Youth a million jobs a year and that this promise, just like the stadiums, remain a mirage. In fact given his apparent enthusiasm for finding people jobs for H.E Raila.
"Raila has neither asked for nor needs Ruto’s help to get, we shall soon be calling all the unemployed youth in this country to bring their CVS and march to the DPs office and dump them there so he can find them jobs, as that should be his focus," he said.
Dr Ruto also seized Thursday's prayer rally to narrate his difficult upbringing, recalling how he bought his first shoes at Sh60 when he was joining Form One.
