Dating a selfish partner can cause you to be unhappy in the relationship.
Here are some of the traits of a selfish boyfriend.
1. He only thinks about himself
If you have a boyfriend who you always ask how he's doing or how his day was but he never asks you the same, then he doesn't care about you.
Also, if your boyfriend's eyes light up when he is talking about his day or something to do with him but suddenly gets bored once you start talking about yours, just know he is a selfish guy who thinks the world revolves around him.
2. Doesn't pay attention to your emotions
Does he act like he basically can't deal with your feelings?
In an event where you have an argument or disagreement, he will try as much as possible to de-escalate the whole thing without solving the issue at hand.
Often at times, he'll be the one on the wrong and he will simply tell you that you're over-reacting or getting emotional over nothing just to keep you quiet.
3. He's never at fault
If you're always the first one to apologise even if he is the one on the wrong, he's being selfish.
According to him, he's never at fault and therefore will never utter the words "I'm sorry" unless you do it first.
If you don't apologise first, he will give you the silent treatment for days and won't feel guilty about it.
4. He's a control freak
He dictates everything that goes on with your lives as a couple.
From where you go for dates, what you should wear, what kind of friends you should hang out with, basically everything.
He simply wants power in the relationship.
5. Compromise is a foreign word to him
For a relationship to work, sometimes the couple needs to compromise.
If your man is never willing to compromise no matter how hard you beg or plead your case, then he is being selfish.
For selfish men, their mind will always be made up and if they decide they won't do something, they won't even though this will hurt the relationship.
