Self-Proclaimed Prophet Dr David Owuor is not new to controversy.
The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness prophet is known to be strict when it comes to matters of faith and religion.
Dr Owuor who has thousands of followers in Kibera, the whole country and abroad is never afraid of rebuking politicians and preachers whom he accuses of misleading their flocks and supporters.
On August 28, 2017, Owuor shocked his followers when he allegedly chased away NASA leaders led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga from attending his prayer and thanksgiving rally.
Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetangula were turned away from Owour’s prayer rally at Central Park in Nairobi days to the Supreme Court ruling on the presidential petition.
The leaders had turned up for the prayer rally ahead of the supreme court ruling on a presidential election petition they had filed challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.
The prophet is said to have instructed his aides to chase away the leaders, saying that it was not time for politics.
Dr Owour was leading his followers in celebrating their alleged resurrection of Mama Rosa from West Pokot.
“They were told to go away because the prophet was celebrating the resurrection of Mama Rosa,” a follower who attended the rally and sought anonymity said.
Mama Rosa was allegedly raised from the dead three days after she had been pronounced dead.
Raila, Kalonzo and Wetangula left the prayer rally and headed to the Supreme Court grounds where they met their supporters.
