Embakasi North MP James Gakuya will on Thursday be arraigned before the court over corruption allegations.
Gakuya was arrested after Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji okayed a file by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission against the MP.
The MP is accused of awarding NG-CDF contracts to companies he is associated with.The companies were given a cool Sh40 million.
Gakuya was arrested together Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Chairman Richard Mwangi Chuchu and two others; Cleophas Omariba Oyaro (district accountant) and Leah Waithera Guchu who is the constituency’s fund account manager.
EACC said there were irregular award of contracts, where the companies associated with the MP were awarded the Sh40 million contracts.
The companies were paid through an account where Gakuya is a signatory.
