Wamalwa last Tuesday poured cold water on Ruto's presidential bid. The CS termed the DP's moves as unrealistic dismissing him for what would be him automatically succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.

CS Wamalwa was speaking when he presided over the launch of the Western Jurists Sacco at a hotel in Nairobi, a remark that has now landed him on the receiving end from a section Luhya leaders.

“Out of 10 vice-presidents Kenya has had, only (retired president) Daniel arap Moi was the one who succeeded the president following the demise of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta,” he was quoted by the Standard.

Responding to the remarks on Sunday, Sirisia lawmaker John Waluke termed Wamalwa as an ungrateful person who is now busy insulting the people who made him.

Waluke made the remarks during the Catholic Diocese of Kitale Family Day in Trans Nzoia County. The event that was attended by DP Ruto and other regional leaders.

"We helped our brother Eugene to get a Cabinet position through Ruto. He is now running up and down campaigning against Ruto. This is so sad,” he said.

This comes at a time when things seem to be worsening between the DP and Wamalwa who has been giving Ruto's events in the Western Kenya region a wide berth lately.

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka has also fired shots in the same direction, saying that whoever is fighting Ruto is a joker.
