Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko on Friday attended the burial of the late Pacifica Obegi Obwori at Mosocho area, Kitutu Chache South Constituency in Kisii County.
Pacifica was the mother to Edward Gichana, a Nairobi County employee.
Addressing mourners at the burial, Sonko said that he respects people from the Gusii community on grounds that those working in his government are so hard working.
"I feel secure when I work with Kisiis because it is very hard to comprise Kisiis. In short, it is hard to find members of the Kisii community engaging in dubious dealings such as stealing public monies," he stated.
He described Gichana who lost his mother as a competent person who has always been working tirelessly to ensure his government delivers to the people of Nairobi.
The vocal governor allied to Jubilee Party challenged the mourners to make wise political decisions when electing leaders.
"Be very vigilant when electing your leaders. Elect people who will champion for development and not individuals who will be interested in stealing public funds meant for development," said Sonko amid cheers.
