Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has reacted after President Uhuru Kenyatta fired Sports, Culture and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa.
In an Executive Order on Friday morning, Uhuru replaced Echesa with Education CS Amina Mohamed.
Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) chairman George Magoha was nominated to take over from Amina.
The Head of State, however, did not disclose reasons why Echesa, who had only served for 13 months, was dismissed from the Cabinet.
Reacting to the news, Kabogo mocked the former Sports CS claiming "his pride" was the cause of his downfall.
Quoting an African saying, the former county boss claimed Echesa behaved as if he was more important than other people after he was picked by Uhuru to head the crucial ministerial docket.
"Pride comes before a fall. PROVERB: If you're too conceited or self-important, something will happen to make you look foolish," Kabogo tweeted on Saturday.
In November, last year, Echesa dared ODM leader Raila Odinga to sack him.
Speaking in Kakamega County, Echesa accused the former Prime Minister of pushing for his removal from government and dared Raila to fire him if he was the "appointing authority".
"I want to dare you Tinga wherever you are, come and sack me, kuja unifute. Kama ni wewe appointing authority Kenya hii, come and sack me please. I have a very young family to look after…" Echesa remarked.
