Every parent wishes to see their children grow up loving and supporting each other. In many families, sibling relationships are always faced with conflicts and arguments.
As a parent, it is important to ensure that your children resolve the conflicts that arise among them. As you resolve the conflicts between your children, ensure you do not favour any side and let the results encourage positive interactions.
Here are three tips to help your children build a strong relationship.
1. Encourage them to play together
Children will enjoy the games they play together. Make sure you don't prevent one of the kids from playing when his/her siblings are outside having fun. They will feel offended and this might make them feel unloved compared to the other children.
2. Promote family activities
Let your children spend some time bonding with each other. You can encourage them to write a letter to their grandparents or draw what they like best. This will help them have a strong sibling relationship.
3. Treat them fairly
Make sure you punish or praise your children in equal measures. A neglected child will develop negative thoughts towards you and the sibling who is always being praised. Express your love towards them the same way. When trying to solve an argument, ensure you listen to both sides and avoid taking sides.
