Homa Bay MP George Kaluma has claimed that the leaders supporting Deputy President William Ruto are the same ones destroying him.
"The Deputy President's biggest problem is the people around him. They have this nack of plunging him into every problem head-on that the society is thinking about. You now see them saying they are the ones having money, no one has said that," Kaluma said on Wednesday in an interview with a local TV station.
The claims come at the time when most leaders in Tangatanga team claim that the President should reduce the number of days the Sh1000 old notes are supposed to be replaced with the new currency notes.
The MPs were speaking when they accompanied DP Ruto in Kiambu county on Sunday. Among those who claimed the time should be reduced are Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Kimani Ichungw'a (Kikuyu) and South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro.
According to Kaluma, their passion about money issues means that they are really affected. The lawyer added that since piracy in Somalia started, there has been a lot of money in the informal sector that needs to be regulated to avoid the Kenyan shilling losing value.
"Beginning with piracy in Somalia, a lot of money has been in the informal economy and we need to mop it up. What I will request of our investigative urgencies to be at four points, bank branches, the forex bureau, hardware firms and real estate industry," Kaluma added.
