Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has pledged to ensure he puts his house in order before leaving office in 2022 so that his successor has an easy time.
Mandago who is serving his second term in office will not be eligible to vie for the gubernatorial seat in the coming general elections.
According to the governor, he is committed to ensuring he completes all the projects he started when he took over power in 2013.
"I have solid plans to finish all the projects by the time my second term lapses in 2022", said Mandago.
Speaking during a homecoming ceremony for Soin primary school, who were recently crowned the girls' national volleyball champions, the vocal county boss said completing the projects will give the next governor an easy time laying down his projects.
"I want to ensure that when the next governor comes in he crafts his own projects so as to stretch our county's development agenda," Mandago noted.
Among key development projects under the governors' tenure include connecting piped water to all the houses, maintaining roads, funding cooperatives for economic transformation and ensuring medical services come closer to the people.
Others are growing talent and equipping youth with technical skills.
During the event, Mandago donated balls and nets for the school and also promised to help the school expand its plot from one acre to at least five.
