Kisii county senator Professor Sam Ongeri has expressed his sympathy to the victims of the terror attack at Dusit Complex, Nairobi.
Ongeri has said the attack is a shock to the country which has witnessed calm over the last few years due to diligent efforts by the government to prevent terror attacks.
Professor Ongeri said the terrorism act was an attempt to instil fear in the citizenry however the security forces responded with diligence and clinical execution to show the masterminds of terror that Kenyans are ready to defend themselves anytime.
He accorded the security forces tribute for having bravely contained the situation.
“I would want to pay a special tribute to our security forces for timely and well-coordinated response to the attack. That valiant effort by both the forces and emergency providers in the face of terror was the highest height of patriotism we can ever have,” read part of his statement
He also recognized the bravery, selflessness and kindness of ordinary Kenyans for their support to the security agencies and inspiratory remarks to the victims of the attacks. Prof. Ongeri urged Kenyans to continue praying with the families affected and remain vigilant.
He wished those receiving treatment a quick recovery.
