HIV has been on the rise amongst the youths in Kisii and its environ. This is due to the rise of unprotected sex and drug abuse.
A visit to one of the HIV victim in Kisii town who opened up about her journey with HIV.
"I will never forget the day my results read positive. It was in 2004. This was after my boyfriend infected me yet i was always faithful to him," said 25-year-old Moraa (not her real name)
Filled with bitterness, her life changed as she was on a mission to infected many more men in Kisii town as a way to revenge.
"After my results, I never thought of suicide as many do but instead I vowed to infect more than 300 men before my death," she said.
Since then, her life changed and she started clubbing heavily to trap men in her missions.
"From the old conservative me, I changed into a beast and a clubbing lady to trap men because obviously, am beautiful. I wore seductive clothes. I was just in a revenge mission," she said.
Her mission being a secret to her, she infected 37 men in a period of 4 months. All this time along, she was on long-term family planning methods to ensure she wouldn't get pregnant. She would even ensure she pricks the condom with her long nails to make sure it bursts.
"I can remember 37 men so far who I have infected. Some are married men who I see them in town up to date. Those who used condoms were not spared," she said.
However, her turning point came after she infected her own brother. She abandoned her mission and decided to join a church for spiritual guidance and seek forgiveness from her God.
"One day we slept with this guy who I infected. He was the 37th guy and so he slept with my brother's girlfriend. And that's how I infected him. Though indirectly, I'm the source," Moraa said.
She is now planning on a campaign mission to support and encourage HIV victims who are is such deadly missions.
Allegedly, campus students in Kisii town have been known to spread the virus knowingly to ensure they revenge.
