Controversial preacher Thomas Wahome of Helicopter Ministries has sued a government chief for allegedly stealing his dogs.
The chief was charged before a Nyeri court with stealing the dogs.
Wahome accused Paul Gachiri, the Kihuri sub-location, Othaya, administrator, of stealing two dogs which he had imported from South Africa.
The chief denied the charges. He was released on Sh200, 000 bond by Othaya Resident Magistrate Monicah Munyendo awaiting hearing of the case.
Wahome told police that he imported the dogs from South Africa before they disappeared.
He later learnt they were with the chief. The chief could not prove ownership, the preacher said.
Wahome was thrust to the limelight by a prayer scandal in his church where he was allegedly charging worshippers Sh3600 per head to ‘reveal’ if they will go to heaven.
“You must come with Sh1,100 to book an appointment with the pastor, an additional Sh1,500 to confirm if your name is in the Book of Life. On top of that, you must also add Sh1,000 because even the Bible says that you should not appear before the Lord empty-handed,” a pastor Salome of the church told Nation when the issue emerged.
