According to an eye witness, Edwin Omwoyo, the lorry veered off the road due to over speeding.

"The lorry driver coming from Egesa route was speeding when he veered off the road prompting to the accident," he said.

Mr Omwoyo said lack of speed bumps along the road makes drivers drive at high speed.

"The government should move with speed and erect speed bumps and road signs to curb unnecessary accidents," he noted.

He added the lorry driver sustained injuries on his knees.

"The lorry driver jumped from the lorry while it was about to overturn injuring his knees. Traders operating at the roadside were forced to run for their dear lives," he stated.

Omwoyo said the driver was taken to RAM hospital for treatment.
