Preparation of the Match between the Kenyan team Kariobangi Sharks FC and the EPL side Everton FC that is planned to take place on 7th July this year has started gaining momentum.
On Friday, Cabinet Secretary for Sports Ambassador Amina Mohamed toured Kasarani stadium where she inspected the venue.
On her Twitter account, the Cabinet Secretary announced the start of preparations.
"What a delight and a great moment set the stage for the game on the 7/7/2019 between Kariobangi Sharks FC and Everton FC at Kasarani.
"A historic date and match courtesy of the Sportspesa Cup anchored on a champions play champions model. Twendeni Kasarani," reads a tweet by Amina.
The CS added that the game gives opportunity for Kenya to showcase its talent to the outside world and also asked Kenyans to turn up in large numbers to cheer the team during the match.
"Great moments are born of great opportunities @k_sharksfc @Everton match 7/7 will stand as a celebration of Kenya’s talent an affirmation that there is great talent in Kenya. A call upon us to provide opportunities necessary to nurture talent," reads another tweet by Amina.
Kariobangi Sharks secured the chance to play Everton after they defeated Bandari on penalties in the Sportspesa super Cup in January.
