As the public reeled from the gruesome murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, it emerged that she had been making trips to South Sudan.
According to media reports, there was a man with whom she had dealings.

Akot is a card-carrying member of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM).
The late General Garang appointed him head of SPLM's military command.
He is well known in South Sudan by his moniker Amara and served as governor of Bahr el Ghazal.
As head of SPLM's military wing, he led rebel forces in the independence crusade from Sudan.
