Deputy President William Ruto and Mombasa governor Hassan Joho who is also the deputy party leader for ODM party have been having a cold political relationship over a long period of time.
The real reason behind the rivalry of these two politicians is definitely about 2022 presidential race where Dp Ruto is so determined to clinch the seat and succeed his party boss Uhuru Kenyatta.
Recently Joho revealed that he has been tasked by Raila Odinga to fight the self-proclaimed hustler and added that Ruto was unfit to be president.
Joho’s words sparked sharp reactions from Kenyans and politicians from different political camps. However, Joho should accept that Ruto is a better politician and experienced leader and he is of no equal to him.
Joho made his first entry to parliament in 2007 when Ruto had been in parliament for ten good years since 1997.
At that time Ruto was a close ally to Raila Odinga who Hassan Joho is allegedly working for and was among the five members of the Pentagon team which made the leadership of the current ODM party before Ruto and Raila fell out.
Unlike Joho, Ruto is the second man in command in the Republic of Kenya while Joho is just a governor.
Ruto enjoys maximum support of his Rift Valley home region while governor Joho is facing strong rebellion and criticism from him coastal region.
In fact, DP Ruto has penetrated into the coastal region and has been able to win himself new supporters including Mps Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori.
