Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has to go slow as far as Ukambani politics is concerned.

Kibwana needs to know that former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is not his equal.

His administration's exemplary development track record is not enough to take him to State House.

The possible division of the Ukambani votes will deter the community from having one of its own become Kenyan president especially in 2022 polls.

It takes unity to emerge victorious in the political contest at any level.

Kibwana should remember that diving the community due to his differences with Kalonzo will neither help him nor anyone.

The governor had earlier said he was ready to back any leader's presidential candidature to succeeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the next elections.

Kibwana caused a storm in the region when he said he cannot be forced to support Kalonzo for the top post when that time comes.

His recent resignation threats from Wiper party chairmanship has turned things even uglier.

Kibwana has teamed up with his counterparts Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) in a bid to have Kalonzo replaced from the Ukambani political kingpinship.

The trio could be in for a rude shock come 2022.
