One of the victims (name withheld) said the MP freed them from Nyamarambe Police station and ordered them into his vehicle on Wednesday.

However, he adds, occupants of the vehicle stripped them naked at various stations and whipped them mercilessly on claims that they had thrown stones at the MP on Tuesday at Nyabigege.

"He ordered us into his vehicle. We were stripped naked and beaten in various stopovers. He then gave us Sh100 each for us to take motorbikes to our homes. My friends are badly injured," he told reporters.

On various social media forums, Nyamira residents questioned the conduct oh the youthful MP, an orphan who struggled to get his current status.

"I can't believe that this is Osoro, the orphan we all know. Stripping naked opponents and doing this. This is inhumane and if he did this, then his days are numbered," said Vincent Osumo, a blogger.

Steward Oyugi said: "Osoro's conduct is typical example of failed youth leadership. He dines with impunity and South Mugirango people should sack him in 2022. This is arrogance of the highest pedigree."

In his defense, Osoro however accused opponents of using the three men for political gains, adding that he is not aware of their predicaments.

Further, he said, elders from the region had asked him to drop the case, the reason he went to Nyamarambe Police station and had them released unconditionally.

"They threw stones and almost injured my kid. I dropped the complainant after the intervention of the elders. I am not aware of the assault."

Mr Osoro is a key pointsman of Deputy President William Ruto and is behind the 20 trips to Kisii and Nyamira Counties made by the Jubilee deputy party leader after 2017 elections.
