Nyalenda A ward representative has confirmed that Kisumu county government will fund road construction for Sh 11.5M.
Speaking during public address near Coptic Church in Nyamasaria Jackton Onunga said that county kitty will fund 8km road project in Dago unit within Nyalenda A ward.
"The county will fund the roads within Dago unit and erect 3 floodlight to curb issues on insecurity in the area," said Onunga.
Onunga also rejected the proposed the Bachalul gas plant along Nairobi Road.
The ward rep said that the gas plant owners had applied for commissioning of the Bachalul gas plant but was declined.
He said that the community lamented that they were not consulted to set up the gas plant.
"The area has not be zoned for industrial purposes. We will petition NEMA for their intervention so that the project is viable in the place," said Onunga.
He added: "As the ward rep I would like to it in the strongest way possible. We would like the county government to intervene because the gas plant will pose as health hazard to the residents of Nyalenda A."
