Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that he will contest for the Presidency in 2022 polls.
Kalonzo maintains that he is fit to take over the country's leadership from President Uhuru Kenyatta when that time comes.
The Ukambani political kingpin argues that he has been patient for long and 2022 is his opportune time to ascend to power.
He has ruled out stepping down for anyone ahead of the next General Elections.
Kalonzo is, however, facing lots of challenges as he strategizes to win 2022 presidential election.
He is facing a rebellion in Ukambani since some of his close political friends want him to quit politics.
According to political pundit Peter Ngure, Kalonzo has a lot of work to do in his push to ascend to power in 2022.
Ngure argues that the former Vice President can take advantage of the following to woe Kenyans' votes in the next polls:
1. Integrity
The analyst observes that Kalonzo could be among the few top political leaders with high integrity.
He has severally said that his integrity is unquestionable as a public leader.
"The Wiper leader can bank on his integrity and use it to woo for votes in 2022," Ngure said.
2. Experience
The analyst also notes that Kalonzo can use his experience in leadership especially in foreign policies and diplomacy to ask for votes.
Kalonzo once served as a Foreign Affairs Minister and has been involved in peace and dispute resolution across Africa.
The Wiper leader has vowed to work with President Kenyatta's government even as he eyes the 2022 presidential seat.
